The Association is very sorry to report the death of Mrs Ros Nichol.

She died on Friday 26 February after a brave battle with cancer. Ros was a member of the College Common Room from 1993 to 2000, a very effective and attentive teacher of French and German, Housemistress of Williams House from 1995 until 2000, when she left to become the Head of the English Section at the Lycée Français in London, until her retirement a year or so ago.

In her final year at the College, she also acted as Senior Mistress. Ros also did a great deal to develop and promote Girls’ squash as a College sport. Our condolences go to her husband Bruce, who was a stalwart supporter of College cricket, and her two sons, Andrew (H. 1993–98) and Alistair (H. 1996-01).

Ros' Thanksgiving Service will be held at Brighton College Chapel on Friday 11th March 2011. Family flowers only please, donations, if desired, to Cancer Research UK or Macmillan Cancer Support c/o Attree & Kent, Funeral Directors, 108 Church Road, Hove BN3 2EB.
