The OB Pelicans and supporters arrived at East Grinstead on Sunday morning in the driving rain. After a delay to assess the pitches, it was decided that, despite the conditions, the tournament would go ahead. Only 12 teams were available so the draw was re-organised and we played the Marauders first. Despite a try by Ryan Bhimji, we lost to the semi-professional Marauders 10 - 5.
Congratulations to Harry Leonard (A. 2005-10) who captained the under 20 Scotland team to victory against Italy on Friday 16th March in the final round of the Six Nations under-20 championship. Congratulations from the Old Brightonians and the College.

Old Brightonian and current Harlequins rugby player Jordan Turner-Hall (H. 2002-05) has been selected into the Elite England Rugby Squad ahead of this year's 6 Nations Championship. The 38 man squad start training in Leeds next week and we wish him well.
The College hosted a fund-raising event on Sunday 11th September for the Sam Griffiths Foundation, which has been set up in memory of Sam Griffiths (School, 2005-8) who died in January 2009.
Despite a very poor weather forecast, the sun shone brightly during the main event, which was a memorial rugby match; the two teams comprised many of Sam’s old school friends from both Brighton College and Hurstpierpoint School, and also some of his friends from his rugby club, London Scottish in Richmond, London. After the match, all the players and spectators – around 125 people in total – congregated in the Great Hall for afternoon tea, during which Father Robert hosted an auction and raffle, which raised a fantastic £6,500 for the Foundation.
The Development and Alumni Relations Office's primary role is to support the Head Master and Governors in realising the long-term plans of the school, by raising non-fee income, and by building a network of strong relationships among parents, staff, Old Brightonians and other friends and supporters.
