If you have a background in or are currently working within the field of law, we would love to have you back at the College to speak to our current Sixth Formers interested in pursuing this career path.

We are always trying to improve the support programme we offer pupils to help them prepare for their choices and careers beyond Brighton College.

At this stage we primarily assist them in exploring areas of interest and looking at skills relevant for the rigorous application processes, both for competitive university courses and beyond. Law is an increasingly popular field amongst pupils. As people with strong links to the school we would like our current Brighton College pupils to be able to benefit from your experience.

Following the introduction of our Law Conference in 2016, we will be hosting the event again on Thursday 4th May, inviting both our Sixth Form pupils and those from local state schools. In order for the conference attendees to benefit as fully as possible from the huge and inspiring range of expertise possessed by members of our Old Brightonian and parent community, we will be altering the format of this year’s conference slighty.

After a series of talks from 6pm to 7pm, we hope to run a ‘speed dating’ style event between 7pm and 7.30pm, whereby the pupils rotate around a number of industry professionals in groups, listening to five short, five minute talks. We would hope that these would cover a range of topics, from the practicalities of interviewing and CVs, to a day in the life of a solicitor, to a particularly interesting court case, or an individual’s career path. This will be followed by a more informal networking event from 7.30pm – 8.30pm, which is often the part of the evening which challenges and enthuses pupils the most, providing an opportunity for the pupils to talk informally to parents and Old Brightonians who work in this varied field, and perhaps begin to make contacts for short term work experience placements.

If you might be able to give your time to either (or both) the ‘speed dating’ and the networking portions of the evening we would be extremely grateful; please let us know by 18th April via email, on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Many thanks for your continued support of the school and I do hope you are able to join us on Thursday 4th May.
