Having started all Bloomberg Hong Kong Scottish's games in the premiership this season and following some great performances Marcus made his debut on the left wing for Hong Kong's National Team against Zimbabwe on 15th November 2016. Hong Kong ran out winners 34-11.

He and his twin brother Gregor (also H. 2011-16) returned ahead of the Premiership season to play for HK Scottish and quickly impressed the selectors.

“Marcus is a good find for us,” said Dai Rees, HKRU General Manager of Rugby Performance. “He was on the fringes of the Scotland U20s squad and it’s not often that you find young players with his qualities. Since coming back to play for Scottish, his stats have spoken for themselves and he has been lighting up the league. We wanted to give him the opportunity to play for Hong Kong and he has grasped it with both hands. We are excited to see how he will acquit himself at international level,”
