It has, as every year, been an emotional two days here at Brighton College as we waved off our newest Old Brightonians through the Quad on their Graduation, as well as some of our long standing members of the Common Room, Sally Woodmansey, Paul Sperring and Graham Hart who all after almost 20 years of service will be retiring.

Peter Withers (Common Room, 1973-07) has died

We are sad to report that Peter Withers, who was a member of Common Room for 34 years from 1973 to 2007, died at home in Seaford on Monday 16 April, aged 87.

Pro Corda Chamber Champions once again!

It has been another fantastic term for Brighton College Chamber Music! after three gruelling national rounds, four of our ensembles were selected to play in the winners' final concert of the Pro Corda National Chamber Music Competition in Cambridge.

In recent years the College has run a series of particularly successful careers events for the Sixth form, where we have been extremely lucky to have a range of Old Brightonians return to their old school to speak to pupils about their careers, what they do and how they got to where they are now.

As part of the Head Master's new introduction to the L6th programme, every pupil in the year group took part in a visit to former Concentration Camp in Poland, Auschwitz-Birkenau.

Rachel O’Nunain (Wi. 2009-16) paid a visit to Brighton College last week to coach the Senior Debating first pair of Jessica Pavey and Isabel Loubser, who have qualified for the 2nd Round of the ESU Mace Debating Competition at Ardingly in February.

We are delighted to announce that both Brighton College and Brighton College Prep and Pre-Prep appear on two spaces on the new board in the Brighton and Hove edition of Monopoly, which was released last month. Traditionally taken up by Regent Street and Bond Street we sit on two green spaces!

Opening of the new Kai Yong Yeoh Building at Brighton College

Old Brightonian businessman and philanthropist Dato' Mark Yeoh (Ch. 1983-84) returned to Brighton College last Friday for the official opening of the school's brand new academic building, named after his mother.
