REPORT: Brighton College Professions Conference 2020
This year’s Professions Conference kicked off with nine different panel sessions, catering for a broad range of sectors specifically hosted for the Lower Sixth Form. Pupils had the chance to join in with discussions from a diverse range of sectors, such as law, medicine, finance, architecture and the arts.

The Head Master was very pleased to hear from Alex Bone (Ha. 2003-17) who, having moved to Australia for university, started a crowdfunding page to raise money for the town of Cobargo in New South Wales, which was decimated by the recent bushfires.

On Thursday 9 January 2020, we were delighted to welcome The Right Honourable Sir Nicholas Soames to officially open the School of Science and Sport. Designed by Ellen van Loon of OMA, our newest building is designed to seamlessly link sports and science and overlooks the Home Ground at the north end of the campus.

We were all very moved at this year's Graduation Ceremony and Service in late June, to bid farewell to Harvey Thompson (Al. 2013-18) as well as welcome back his father David Thompson (Al. 1976-80 ) and uncle, Tim Carden (Le/Ch. 1976-80).We had no idea how embedded the College is in both families histories, and were fascinated and decided to dig deep into the College archives to find out more.

Following the introduction of our Law Conference in 2016, this year's conference took place on Thursday 4th May, which was attended by our current Sixth Form pupils and those from local state schools.
