Match report: Los Pelicanos Hermanos - cup triumph!

It's finally happened. The boys from Brighton College have won the cup at Littlehampton for the first time! In a tight final against Crawley, they were losing 1-2, but after some stern words from player-coach Aidan Phillips-Cragg and captain Alex Brown, the tide turned. Tries from Ollie Kirwan, Henry Mason and Alex Bushell (all only 18 years old) changed the game, and the boys came out on top 4-2. It was a testament to the Old Brightonian's spirit that they managed to turn the game on its head.

One victory, one draw, nine defeats and friendships for life

The 1957 Rugby season did not start off or end successfully. By January 1957, the 1st XV Coach E.L.B. Turner, had played eleven games. Of these eleven, there was only one victory, one draw, and a whopping nine defeats, including a 3-29 trouncing by St. John’s, and a 0-23 humbling by Cranleigh School.

18-year-old Smith has enjoyed a breakout season in 2017. The former Brighton College pupil joined the full-time Harlequins Academy in July 2017 after helping Harlequins' U18s to the league title in February of this year.

It also highlights the philosophy of the Brighton College Rugby Club, which is going from strength to strength at the moment. Record numbers of boys are opting to play the sport and the A teams are excelling nationally. I truly believe that Rugby Union at any level can help boys to fulfil their potential in life.

OB Twins Gregor and Marcus Ramage (Ha. 2011-16) sign for Bloomberg Hong Kong Scottish

We are delighted to hear that Bloomberg Hong Kong Scottish have announced the signing of Gregor and Marcus Ramage (Ha. 2011-16) for the upcoming season. The 18 year old twins have recently moved to Hong Kong as part of Hong Kong Scottish’s first "Gap Year Programme." Marcus and Gregor have recently completed their IRB level 2 coaching certificates through The Hong Kong Rugby Union and will assist HKS coach in the local community as well as coach their junior club, The Flying Kukris.

Honouring Peter Rumney (Ha. 1937-39), the OB RFC took to the field of battle, with a good mix of ages, on the 27th December against a youthful Hove XV. A huge thank you to all players and supporters who came out to fight the good fight and show their support. Particular thanks to the Rumney family and to Tim Loadsman (Le. 1951-57) who did a superb job as linesman.
