We were delighted to see Maurice Abboudi (Sc. 1975-80) on Series Two of BBC 2's My Million Pound Menu, where "Fred Sirieix oversees a battle for investment between three restaurant ideas, who think their take on fast and fresh flvaours, delivered in a Nando's or Wagamama-style restaurant, will secure them the chance for big-money backing to open on the high street."

Dr Rachel Smith (Fe. 1988-90) came to Brighton as a music scholar, and was heavily involved in all aspects of music life whilst at school. The British Flute Society as well as Verity Sharp from BBC Radio 3 have praised Rachel for her control and beauty of tone, her talent has led her to play with symphony, chamber and opera orchestras, and conerto and recital performances have taken her around Europe, Japan, Zimbabwe, Canada and the USA.

We were all very moved at this year's Graduation Ceremony and Service in late June, to bid farewell to Harvey Thompson (Al. 2013-18) as well as welcome back his father David Thompson (Al. 1976-80 ) and uncle, Tim Carden (Le/Ch. 1976-80).We had no idea how embedded the College is in both families histories, and were fascinated and decided to dig deep into the College archives to find out more.

Completing her PhD at King’s College London, Alice is researching human induced pluripotent stem cells, and genetically reprogramming them back to an embryonic stem cell-like state, hoping to one day enable more personalised cell therapies for patients.

Thank you to everyone who kindly supported Louis Rivet (Le. 2007-12) with his volunteering in the Philippines, who is now back after his three month placement with Engineers Without Borders. During this time, he worked with SIBAT, a Filipino NGO in designing and upgrading Micro-hydropower systems. These systems provide electricity to remote communities that would not normally have access to the Grid.
