Having both experienced the transition from Brighton College to university, OB sisters Kate (Se. 2011-14) and Emma (Se. 2012-16) Appleby contacted Alex Patton, Head of Sixth Form, as they both felt that it would be beneficial to speak to our current U6th pupils in chapel about the importance of well-being, especially before leaving school and entering the world of university and work.
We were therefore delighted to welcome Kate and Emma back to the College on Thursday 27th April 2017 for a fantastic talk giving insight into how to improve your well-being by creating strucutre, creating a support network, finding something that motivates you every day, and the idea of 'Taking 10'- (minutes) every day to do something enjoyable and relaxing.
Alongside this brilliant advice, the pupils were also introduced to valuable resources such as Nightline (a service which all universities provide), as well apps such as WorryTime and HeadSpace, designed to help with relaxation and mindfullness exercies.
We are so grateful to Kate and Emma for offering their time and sharing their experiences, thank you!
