The Joanna Seldon Creative Writing Speech Day Prize has been launched this year in memory of Dr Joanna Seldon, wife of Anthony Seldon ex-Headmaster (1997-2006) of Brighton College.
Joanna was an inspirational teacher of English and ran the Creative Writing Society while she was at Brighton College, making a huge impact on the creative lives of many pupils.
A lot of OBs will remember her brilliant teaching and creative encouragement as a defining part of their school lives.Joanna continued to write and teach at Wellington with Anthony. She passed away in December 2016. Her last book of poetry, ‘the Bright White Tree’ was published just before.
