The Old Brightonians were drawn against Charterhouse Friars for the first round of the National Cricketer Cup 2016. We had a home fixture for the game, the first time in many years the draw was favourable for the Old Brightonians with many of the previous winners being in the other half of the draw.

1st Round Away to Harrow Wanderers.

The Old Brightonians travelled to Harrow School for the 1st round of the Cricketer Cup. We have not played at home for several seasons now, but that is the luck of the draw. We have a long history of cricket against Harrow both at school level and in the OB's Cup. Our last two visits have been unsuccessful against The Wanderers. One sticks out in my mind in particular when we lost to them in the semi-finals of the competition back in the early noughties, the furthest we have reached in the Cup since we won the competition back in the 60's.

I wanted to drop you a line after returning from Tanzania to thank you for your donations towards "Mt Kili Madness", specifically Cancer Research UK. I'm nearing an overwhelming £9,000 so with a fundraising dinner still to come, I should go beyond £10,000 which was beyond my wildest expectations.
