Over the past 6 months Theo has been travelling, via local buses, from Cape Town to Addis Ababa gaining a better understanding of international development efforts in particular regions. This has led to his involvement with Balloon Ventures: a new social enterprise project aimed at creating sustainable economic development through bringing business skills taught in the U.K to British citizens, to Kenyan or Ugandan entrepreneurs in their country.
While being a new project, it has already seen jobs created, businesses grown and communities prospering. Theo will be going back to Kenya and Uganda at the end of the month to further his involvement with the project and work with in-country entrepreneurs on the development of their businesses. Balloon Ventures does receive funding from UKAID, however it relies on fundraising to support volunteers, like myself, ensure the success of the project in-country. I know that any support you can give would be greatly appreciated, you can donate to Theo's cause here or click here to find out more about Balloon Ventures.
