The literary magazine Granta will this week publish its Best of Young British Novelists 5 and Old Brightonian Saba Sams (Se. 2009-12) will be included in this prestigious edition.
The Best of Young British Novelists edition of Granta includes work from 20 young writers, and featured alongside Saba's is the work of the likes of Eleanor Catton and Derek Owusu. It is published only once every 10 years, and the list of featured writers is picked by an expert panel of writers including, this year, the novelist Rachel Cusk. Previous editions have included the novelists Salman Rushdie and Naomi Alderman.
Saba is a writer based in London. She has published a collection of short stories, Send Nudes, and she is currently working on her debut novel.
