On Saturday 23 May, OBs Henry Tydeman (Le. 2007-12) and John Tydeman (Al. 2008-13) will bring their band Barbara to The Hope and Ruin in Brighton, as part of a national tour.
The brothers formed Barbara in 2020 and are known for their literate, 1970s-influenced glam-pop.
They have earned high praise from artists such as Paul Weller and Chris Difford for their clever, melodic, and theatrical style, often blending British storytelling with Broadway flair.
“Barbara are one of the best groups about. Live they’re great, and their songs too. Clever and melodic. The Babs are fab!” - Paul Weller
The duo has built a loyal following with their pleasing retro brand of, in their own words, “soft, syrupy progressive fop pop”, so if this sounds up your street, would-be Barbarettes are encouraged to visit www.barbaratheband.com for more information.
