Recording our history not only honours the past, but also inspires future generations to build on the legacy of those who came before them.

Whether it's a photo, uniform, diary, or program from a school play, every piece of history speaks to our shared journey. The Brighton College Archive contains hundreds of fascinating primary sources and we actively encourage interested OBs to get in touch and arrange a tour.

If you have any historic artefacts, documents, or memories from your College days that you would be willing to share with us, please contact our archivist, Mr James Harrison.

Looking back

We store all OB news articles in an online library to record them for posterity.

Our OB News Article Library allows visitors to search by individual names of OBs, school houses, specific dates and even keywords such as "sport", or "letters", for example, to find the articles that suit your interests.

Browse old news updates, alumni profiles, obituaries and more. There are literally thousands of articles, so if you cannot find the specific item you are looking for, please remember that the OB Office is here to help.

remembering the fallen

Our online Roll of Honour recognises the sacrifices of so many, and commemorates the 149 former pupils and teachers killed on active service during the First World War, and the 173 killed during the Second World War.

The site includes an interactive Remembrance Map, which provides map co-ordinates and details of the War Graves of Old Brightonians all over the world.

Read the stories of the young men who spent their early lives at the College and then went on to serve their country, never to return.
