Award-winning filmmaker Chris Terrill (Al. 1965-70) recently joined Adrian Chiles on BBC Radio 4's Saturday Live, to discuss the stories behind his global adventures and some of television's most compelling factual programming.
Chris has built one of the most distinguished careers in British documentary filmmaking. As Founder, Creative Director and Director of Photography at Uppercut Films, to date, he has been responsible for more than 200 documentaries, bringing audiences closer to some of the world's most demanding environments and extraordinary human stories.
His work includes acclaimed series and films such as The Warship: Tour of Duty, Commando on the Front Line, Royal Marines: Mission Afghanistan, Nature's Fury and Living on the Edge.
Known for his immersive approach to storytelling, Chris has often lived alongside the people he films, whether on patrol with the Royal Marines in Afghanistan, sailing aboard Royal Navy warships or documenting life in some of the world's most challenging environments. His work has earned widespread critical acclaim and numerous awards for its authenticity, humanity and cinematic ambition.
