 900x1046 Lottie Pearl

Lottie Pearl (Wi. 2009–20) graduated from Bristol Old Vic Theatre School last year and has already built an impressive portfolio of work. She appears in the second season hit drama Rivals on Disney+ and has also attracted considerable attention for her original musical, The Emu War.

Lottie plays Emmie Wilcox in Season 2 of Rivals, the much-anticipated adaptation of Jilly Cooper's bestselling novel. The 12-episode season has been released in two parts, with the first six episodes currently streaming and the second batch due later this autumn. Viewers can spot Lottie in Episode 4 and again in Episode 7 when the series returns.

Alongside her acting, Lottie is an accomplished singer-songwriter. In 2024, she made a strong impression at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with The Emu War - a wildly inventive comedy musical based on one of history's most unusual real-life events, Australia's Great Emu War of 1932.

The production follows the Australian government's famously unsuccessful attempts to control a rapidly growing emu population, transforming a curious historical episode into a fast-paced musical filled with humour, heart and dancing birds! Critics praised its originality and ambition, earning it multiple five-star reviews.

Beneath the comedy lies a thoughtful exploration of conflict, environmental responsibility and the futility of war. The result is a show that balances absurdity with genuine emotional depth, that clearly resonated strongly with Fringe audiences. Since its debut, a series of concert performances has supported the show's continued development, and there are plans for an Off-West End production in London and further development work in the United States.

Watch this space! We look forward to following Lottie's future projects on stage and screen.
