This summer on BBC Radio 4, Tony Hawks (Al. 1976-78) invites listeners to join him for a thought-provoking and typically amusing five-part series: Tony Hawks Is Giving Nothing Away.

In it, Tony explores the surprising and slightly controversial decision not to leave his wealth to his son in the event of his death. Through conversations with billionaires, behavioural scientists, and thinkers from all walks of life, he asks: “What makes a meaningful legacy?” And, “Is passing on money really the best we can do for the next generation?”

Tony’s journey raises bigger questions about fairness, ambition, and what we choose to leave behind - not just to our families, but to society as a whole.

Listen in, as Tony navigates the emotional and philosophical territory of what it really means to give something away -and the importance of what we leave behind for others.
