His Majesty King Charles III recognised 70 British Army personnel with honours and awards in the military division of his Birthday Honours List, published on Friday 13 June 2025. The men and women receiving awards have made outstanding contributions both at home and overseas.

Major-General Zachary Stenning (Ha. 1985-90) was named a Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath. This prestigious recognition reflects his extraordinary service and dedication to the British Army.

Major-General Stenning has built a remarkable military career spanning over two decades, which includes challenging deployments to the former Yugoslavia, Iraq, and Afghanistan. His leadership and courage have already earned him multiple honours, including an MBE in 2008 and OBE in 2013.

 In 2022, Major-General Stenning was appointed Commandant of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, where he has been instrumental in shaping the next generation of British Army officers. His emphasis on leadership, integrity, and international cooperation has left a lasting impact on the academy and its cadets.

Major-General Stenning’s appointment to the Order of the Bath is a testament to his distinguished service to the nation and his unwavering dedication to duty.
