Memories of Brighton College

17 December 2019

It is with thanks to T John Reynolds (Le. 1955-59) that we recently received a lovely picture of what could be the first wedding of an Old Brightonian to have taken place in the school chapel.

Fenwick House opened in 1983, becoming the first girls-only House at Brighton College.

08 October 2014

I found an old Sussex County Magazine from 1951 with an article about the college. Some interesting pictures and insight into how the school came into being.

06 June 2014

Many thanks to Mervyn Dunhill (Bristol 1959-1964) who sent some rather delightful photos in to the OB office.

20 December 2011

I enclose a picture of my form in the Junior School, about 1946. Recognisable boys are Acker, Woodthorpe, Seagull, Drayson, Little, Hill I and Hill II, Goldstein.

19 December 2011

Richard Thornburgh sent us this wonderful postcard of the Junior School when it was in Lewes Crescent.

13 December 2011

Malcolm Jenkins (H. 1951-55) writes reading the August newsletter about Sir John Chilcot, O.B. President, prompted me to revisit an old photograph taken circa 1954, of some of the inhabitants of Hampden House, including John Chilcot. The photo was taken at the top of the bank, which was out of bounds to all but prefects’ feet, with the old tin sheds which housed Hampden at the time, in the background!

We came across this in the archives, and thought we would share it with you all...
